WELCOME FROM THE EAST

Located within the Masonic Temple in downtown Phoenix, Arizona; Sahuaro Lodge #45 F&A.M enjoys a dedicated membership of Brothers, ranging from several Past Grand Masters, appointed Grand Lodge Officers, Past Masters to Entered Apprentices.

Being a smaller Lodge, we are not afraid to embrace new ideas and concepts that embellish our Lodge motto of “Making Good Men Better Since 1953”.

Our Brethren come from many walks of life, ranging from electrical engineers, attorneys, a former Police Chief, retired and active law enforcement and public servants. We have a combined knowledge of over 100 years.

Our Stated Meetings are every third Wednesday. We have dinner at 6:00pm, which is open to all Masons and those interested in becoming Masons. Lodge is at 7:00pm and all Masons, regardless of their Lodge affiliation, are encouraged to attend.

A Lodge is not a building, a structure or a place, a Lodge is the sum of the Brethren, the men who do the Work; a Lodge is the hearts and souls of the Brothers. The foundation of a Lodge is moral and social virtue, and a Lodge is held together by Fellowship and Brotherly Love.

A lodge is supported and maintained by the actions and interactions of the Masons who make up its body. It’s the coming together of the Brothers that forms the structure of the Lodge and it is through coming together and sharing thoughts and experiences that we can collectively draw our designs for the future of this Lodge and our own futures as Men and Masons. It is through coming together, at stated meetings, ritual practice, Masonic education events, social gatherings, Lodge visitations and so forth that we have an opportunity to inspect our work and ourselves and see if any improvements can be made to either strength or ornament.

We strengthen our hearts and minds by regularly reflecting upon those basic Masonic teachings which instruct us in the measure and use of our time, and admonish us to be mindful of the vices and the superfluities of life. Though we appreciate an opportunity to refresh and celebrate, we regulate our action being mindful of those Cardinal Virtues and always being certain to circumscribe our desire and keep our passions within due bonds, and we always act upon the Square.

We improve ourselves in the way of ornament by being constantly aware that we are not only representatives of our own lives and ways, but that we represent our Families and our Brothers in Freemasonry. We know that we must conduct ourselves in a manner that properly represents our love for our Brother Masons and respect for our Craft. The way we are seen, the way we meet, the way we part, the way we speak, the way we appear, and the way we conduct ourselves represents all Freemasons; this is a great responsibility and we should not take it lightly.

We are the banner of Freemasons everywhere and the emissaries of our Brothers.

I look forward to Fellowship, Growth and the fostering of True Brotherly Love within this Lodge.
